Janelle Renee Jenkins is a three-time Chief Operating Officer whose career spans consumer banking at Citi, public school systems at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and KIPP, national nonprofit management at the National Council of Jewish Women, and corporate operations at DaimlerChrysler. She has led organizations through startup, turnaround, and scale, with budgets ranging from $18 million to $295 million.

She is a published author, keynote speaker, executive coach, and a Detroit native whose leadership philosophy is built on a single conviction: that authority is not granted, it is cultivated, and that the best organizations are the ones where the people closest to the work have the power to change it.

Janelle is the founder of Sovereign, a coaching, consulting, and literary platform for executive women, and the author of works examining leadership, power, and identity across institutional settings.
